Help me keep public lands in public hands

With a new administration in DC and a budget shortfall in our state, Washington's parks and public lands are facing unprecedented threats. From staffing shortages at the Forest Service, to inconsistent and unreliable federal funding, to encroaching development by resource extraction interests, to wildfires and other climate impacts, our public lands are at risk.

That means fewer parks, trails, and natural spaces for all of us.

Access to the outdoors—and particularly to campsites and trails in the Pacific Northwest—fostered my interest in conserving open space and protecting the environment. This interest enriched my life, improved my health, and led me to devote my career to environmental protection. I support TPL because I believe that everyone deserves the same access to outdoor spaces that I’ve enjoyed. Whether it’s enabling public recreational uses in formerly industrial timberlands, returning lands to tribal communities, or creating community schoolyards, TPL works creatively to increase outdoor access through land conservation and park creation.

Communities across Washington rely on the outdoors for health, recreation, climate resilience, and economic growth. Now more than ever, we need committed donors to help sustain and expand this impact.

With your donation this GiveBIG, Trust for Public Land will work to keep public lands in public hands, build more and more-inclusive parks, activate outdoor education opportunities for students of all age, sequester carbon, build climate resilience, and ensure that everyone can connect to the benefits and joys of the outdoors.

Please join me in supporting these efforts by making a GiveBig gift today!
