A Child's Notebook

It is currently GiveBIG, a statewide campaign of giving for nonprofits. During this campaign, I am raising money to help A Child’s Notebook (ACN) continue their important work in Laos, where they provide educational opportunities for children in a country where money and resources are scarce. 

ACN is important to me because education has always been a core value, especially as a child of immigrants. My education has played a huge role in every opportunity I've received and will receive in the future. Access to education should be universal but that is far from reality for the students ACN supports.

 ACN works in partnership with targeted communities to improve their educational opportunities. They offer funding for projects such as starting a school garden, so schools can teach life skills and feed the children lunch, offering better sanitation / clean water, so children have a safe environment and girls can continue their education after menstruation begins, and providing scholarships, so students who otherwise could not afford school can attend.
