🌟Who We Are🌟

University Heights Center (UHeights) promotes life-long learning, creativity, culture, community activism, and the preservation of our 120-year-old historic building, in the University District of Seattle. We are a hub for educators and budding artists, and a gathering place for our community, seven days a week, year-round.

Learning & Connections

We support our neighbors who are unhoused with:

  • An overnight safe parking program that served 19 individuals and connected 6 clients to long-term housing in 2023
  • An annual distribution day of winter essentials for 155+ individuals

We partner with local organizations and groups to host and provide:

  • Daily outreach to more than 4,000 people living in their vehicles throughout the Greater Seattle Area
  • 28,000+ meals each year, over 5,000 hot showers, and foot and wound care to 155 individuals

UHeights creates affordable arts and culture programs through:

  • Providing financially accessible arts space for 10 small local arts groups through the UHeights Theatre Alliance to offer pay-what-you-can arts experiences for the community
  • Summer Park Pop Up, a free, monthly, multi-disciplinary arts event featuring 9 Seattle artists from July to September

Nearly all partnerships and hired artists are led by and/or serve individuals who identify as living with a disability, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+.

We host space for learners of all ages to connect with their peers through:

  • 11 community organizations that call UHeights home comprised of 3 preschools, a school for neurodiverse children, and 4 after-school arts providers
  • Thursdays at 10, weekly intellectually stimulating activities including a multi-title book group and stitchery group for older adults
  • Online Zumba classes that are upbeat, low-impact, and open to all ages and abilities
  • Little Free Library
