Mission

350 Seattle works toward climate justice by organizing people to make deep system change: resisting fossil fuels; building momentum for healthy alternatives; and fostering resilient, just, and welcoming communities.

Description

 350 Seattle is a grassroots-led community confronting the root causes of the climate crisis. Staff and volunteer driven we are building a cross-class, multi generational and multicultural climate movement. We imagine a Seattle where no matter what neighborhood you live in, what color your skin is, or how much money you make, you deserve a good future. We want healthy lungs, accessible public transportation, thriving neighborhoods powered by renewable energy, where everyone can afford their bills and everyone gets to be well.

These are unprecedented times. The White is criminalizing the climate and environmental justice movement, rolling back many of the victories from the Biden administration and seems determined to speed up climate chaos. But we are not backing down. Not more than ever we are standing with our friends and allies because when climate activists, labor unions, community organizers, frontline coalitions and everyday folks like you and me unite - we win.

A generous donor has agreed to match up to $2,500 this Give Big. Help us raise $5,000!

In 2025, we are prioritizing rebuilding our base of active members, investing in Black, Indigenous, People of Color and working class leadership, and resisting the climate deniers in the White House and not letting power holders of Washington use federal inaction as an excuse for delays.

In addition to our strategic priorities, we are scoping and launch new campaigns including:

• Bargaining for the Common Good
• King County Climate Bond
• Free Transit Seattle
• Partnering with IBEW Local 46 to speed up public building owners’ compliance with the Washington Clean Buildings Act and Seattle Buildings Emissions Performance Standard Policy that 350 Seattle worked so hard to pass.

To achieve all this we need you and your support to keep this work alive, we need you to help us grow the movement to build the resilient, just, and welcoming communities we want. We believe our most important task is building and inspiring the movement, because only a movement can bring about the profound change we need, as quickly as we need it to. We're up against big forces of money and power - it will take massive people power to win, and we can't do this without you.
