As I step into my new role as Education Program Manager, I am inspired by the determination of this community and by the many student accomplishments I have witnessed over the past year at Casa Latina. From logging over 3,500 hours of English classes and tutoring sessions to gaining mastery of digital literacy skills and advanced certificates in Word, Excel, and PPT, our students this year have been making the most of the Education programming. My favorite moments have included watching individual students like Ana and Jose not only taking those skills to next level applications such as earning small business licenses, managing budgets, and bringing home their own digital hotspots and refurbished laptops but also helping others to troubleshoot and problem solve along the way. What happens here is a community effort and I invite you to be part of making sure we can continue this work in the year ahead.
Casa Latina is a non-profit organization that advances the power of Latinx immigrant workers through employment, education, and community organizing. Our programs combine direct services and employment opportunities with community organizing, supporting our members to participate fully in the democracy and economy of this country by providing workforce development training, ESL and computer classes, and training to become key advocates in the community and to build a more equitable future for all immigrants. Thanks for whatever you can give at this time.
Join me in amplifying our impact! The first $10,000 raised this year will be DOUBLED thanks to a campaign match!
