HONK! Festival West is the kind of community that lets you show up as you are. Take, for instance, a trombone player, injured in the line of HONK!, and no longer able to hold her trusty hunk of brass. Fear not! A miniature trombone comes along, also known as the modern Slide Whistle. And that slide whistle is accepted in all HONK! bands it tries to impress itself upon. She even entered herself into a tuba leg off at HONK! Fest West 2024!
So, friends, I stand before you today a trombone player no more. I come to you instead as a Slide Whistler, asking you to DONATE to HONK! Festival West today in honor of future slide whistlers everywhere.
