Dear Friends,

As Executive Director of Seattle Good Business Network, I witness daily how the interconnected approach we take to our work is helping to weave together the fabric of a more just and sustainable local economy.

When we connect manufacturers with local producers, farmers with restaurants, youth with climate-focused businesses, and entrepreneurs with community resources, we're not just creating individual success stories – we're building relationships and networks that strengthen our entire economic ecosystem.

This approach creates immediate and tangible impacts for thousands of individuals and businesses, collectively - and if sustained, the long-lasting community resilience we will need in the face of climate change and other disruptions. Here are but a few examples of that work:

  • In partnership with Cascadia Produce and Cedar Grove, we’ve rescued over 3 million pounds of food, with nearly 1.8 million pounds donated (over a 12-month period)
  • Placed our first cohort of Climate Action Interns with local businesses, both big and small, to create climate action plans
  • Funded over 50 local independent restaurants and caterers to provide more than 150,000 nutritious, culturally relevant community meals (since 2022)
  • Became the fiscal sponsor for three mission-aligned nonprofit projects: Washington B Corp Collective, Future of Diversity, and Urban Connoisseurs
  • Formally launched NW Sewn, a collaborative initiative focused on revitalizing our sewn good and textiles industry, with an emphasis on micro-enterprises and the circular economy

When you support Seattle Good Business Network, you're not just making a donation – your investment enables us to make those connections that strengthen our network - each connection sparking others, rippling out to create a web of relationships and opportunities that extends beyond what we can see.

We are now at a critical moment in our organization’s development and we need your support. After experiencing rapid, almost explosive growth since 2020 in response to the needs of the community, we now find ourselves in a position where we need to build a stronger base of support for our own capacity and ability to continue to resource communities.

Our 2025 priorities include:

  • Sustaining and expanding successful initiatives including Good Food Kitchens, Climate Action Youth, Seattle Restored, Seattle Made, and NW Sewn
  • Developing resources to help businesses advance along their ‘good business’ journeys, whether becoming more socially responsible or a better environmental steward - and recognize them for their good practices
  • Growing our reach across the state through the Eat Local First Collaborative, PreCycle Materials Exchange, and our upcoming Washington Good Business Network

This holiday season, we're celebrating the joy and talent of our local creative economy - and the very connections we help create - through our Ignite the Good campaign, featuring original artwork by Seattle Restored alumni Nikita Ares, brought to life by Seattle Made members. Your gift not only supports our mission but also uplifts local makers – and you'll receive beautiful, locally made art pieces as our thank you.

Join me in building an economy that truly serves everyone. Your support, at any level, helps create lasting positive change in our community and strengthens the foundation for our continued impact, fostering connections that will generate opportunities and resilience for years to come.

A contribution in any amount is greatly appreciated, thank you!!
