Pork Chop is just as cute as his name suggests! Abandoned, then rescued by us, he arrived in our care ready with tail wags and kisses. As happy and sweet as he is, we could tell right away there was an issue with his right hind leg. A visit to an orthopedic specialist revealed bones that had not properly healed after sustaining a significant injury, likely from being hit by a car some time ago. An FHO surgery (Femoral Head Ostectomy) and rehabilitation will be necessary to help him live his very best life. The estimated cost for his surgery and rehab is $5,000 and we are looking to our community for help!
Pork Chop has a wonderful potential family ready to support him through his rehabilitation following surgery, and we want to make sure he starts his new life on the right foot (pun intended)! Every donation will help Pork Chop along his road to recovery, and his journey to a forever family. Any additional funds raised above our goal will help fund similar specialized care for dogs we rescue.
Since our inception in 2007, Saving Great Animals has saved the lives of over 9,000 dogs, rescued from abuse, neglect and euthanasia. As one of the largest foster- based dog rescues in Seattle, our unique approach to rescue as an individual match-making endeavor, sets us apart from the traditional shelter adoption experience. At Saving Great Animals, our tailored support for dogs, fosters, and adopters goes beyond lives saved and adoptions completed. Our goal is adoption success and making sure every dog we rescue will complete their journey to a forever home.
The funds raised here will support rescue, rehabilitation, and comprehensive medical care for hundreds of dogs each year.
