Support scholarships for young people whose families would not otherwise be able to access Boys & Girls Club services for their children

This school year, thanks to your contributions to the Boys & Girls Clubs, $37,434 in scholarships were provided to Mercer Island families so their children could benefit from Club services, such as after-school care and summer camp. That’s a more than 109% increase over the last fiscal year.

The Power of the Club

The mission of the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, caring community members. Creating a safe and welcoming space is what we do for 300+ kids every day.  

We believe in the BGC mission because it provides valuable mental health services to youth who need it most. The Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club provides before-and-after-school programs, athletic programs, and runs summer camp for local kids, regardless of income level (scholarships are provided, thanks to your contributions). It runs sports programs for 2000+ young people each year. And it provides internships and college scholarships, through teen programs like YouthForce. Your contributions — and support from amazing local businesses, like Sahara Pizza and Riviera Maya Mexican Restaurant — that make it possible.

You’re invited to two Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club GiveBIG events. Enjoy great meals, from two amazing local establishments, for a great cause! 

Sahara Pizza will donate a portion of proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs all day on Tuesday, May 7, and Riviera Maya Mexican Restaurant will do the same for dinner (from 5pm – 9pm) on Wednesday, May 8.  

This is an event hosted by the Advisory Board members of the Mercer Island Boys & Girls Club for the community to learn more about what we do and raise money to help youth in our community. GiveBIG is a 2-day statewide fundraising campaign where individuals and organizations come together across Washington to invest in our community.
