EAS new student laptops

As an early pioneer in individualized education for kids who learn differently, our school has been serving students who don't thrive in a traditional public school setting in the Eastside area for over 40 years.

Over time, our mission has only become more important as the education system increasingly asks students to assimilate and become proficient in technological skills. We believe every student should be taught how they learn best - so that in turn, we can help them foster a true love for discovery and learning, and help set them on a path to design and achieve their own futures.

This year, with 70 middle and high school students across our two campuses, we are looking to raise funds to upgrade our technology. Our current set of chromebooks are over 5 years old and it is time to replace them.

Here is what we are hoping to accomplish for the 2023-2024 school year:

- Purchase 75 Microsoft surface laptops

- Purchase Microsoft Office subscriptions for each computer

- Purchase a charging station for the Issaquah campus

- Implement our online curriculum for our history and science curriculum on the laptops

- Have every academic class incorporate daily use of the laptops and physical textbooks for learning

- Plan our study hall classes to implement instruction on Microsoft Office skills and tools

- Give students an opportunity to become proficient in technology on the most up to date computers
