Hillside GiveBIG & Matching Grants

Dear Hillside Community, 

As we revel in the vibrant energy of this wild spring weather, we extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support of the Hillside community. Your steadfast dedication is the cornerstone of our shared success. 

We are heartened to witness the dynamic interactions unfolding among our students, staff, and the broader community, as they embrace new avenues of engagement with enthusiasm and creativity. The House Program, for instance, has inspired our students to participate in a variety of school-wide community building activities, service projects, and intramural competitions. For our holiday food drive, not only did they collect 567 pounds of nonperishable food, but also 40 pounds of diapers and paper products for Hopelink Bellevue. We are grateful for all of you and the many ways you contribute to the well-being of our school and its vision, including your generous financial support.

This year’s GiveBIG fundraiser has begun, and culminates with a 48-hour giving event on May 7-8. We want our campaign to reflect our continual commitment to embracing diversity, promoting equity, and fostering inclusion. This upcoming academic year, we anticipate awarding at least $85K in financial aid to students. We firmly believe that every student, regardless of their financial circumstances, deserves access to a quality education. Embracing diversity broadens perspectives, enriches learning environments, fosters critical thinking, and enhances problem-solving abilities. Most importantly, our students cultivate empathy and respect for others’ differences enriching the very fabric of our wonderful community.

This year, we are excited to announce that one generous anonymous donor has decided to match any donations up to $2,500 and another one has extended that match up to $5,000! That means that the first $2,500 of your donations will earn another $5,000, and the next $2,500 of donations can be matched dollar for dollar! Our goal is to raise or exceed $60,000 to support our financial aid, as well as other expenses such as professional development training for our teachers and the maintenance of our facilities. We hope you will consider helping us to reach or exceed that amount. Several staff and board members have already agreed to give toward this goal.
