Give Big 2023: Empowering every student!

Since we were founded in 1998, the Olympia Education Foundation has awarded more than $2.5 million, which has touched every school in the district, in pursuit of our mission to empower every student. Last year alone we invested $338,000 in OSD students, staff and schools.

This includes providing grants that allow educators to enhance student learning, close opportunity gaps, and meet needs that the district and individual schools cannot.

These grants fund everything from library books and musical instruments, to school gardens and art projects, to field trips and school assemblies, to P.E. equipment and extracurricular opportunities.

This year, as concerns about major cuts to schools have mounted, the demand on this specific resource increased significantly. So much so, in fact, we were forced to stop accepting grants for the remainder of the year. We simply did not have enough funds to cover the record number of requests we received.

Your support during Give Big 2023 will help ensure we can fund at least the same number of grants next school year – and it will support all of our work to empower every student, including the Principal’s Emergency Fund and Mental Health Initiative.
