                OUR MISSION

The Shattered Glass Project is a theatre company with the mission to amplify the voices of theatre artists who have been marginalized on the basis of their gender or sex.

               WHAT WE DO

The Shattered Glass Project empowers artists to tell their own stories:

We workshop and produce new plays by playwrights with a lived experience of being marginalized because of their gender;

We provide unique opportunities to create and grow professionally through our Director and Playwright Incubator Program.

We re-imagine the classical canon through the eyes and hearts of marginalized actors, directors and designers.

 OUR RECENT PRODUCTION

The Story Behind A Lonely Realization

Darby Sherwood joined The Shattered Glass Project as a playwright member of the 2021 Incubator/Mentor cohort where she partnered with fellow cohort member, director Alison Kozar on their production of Gallery of Perspective and Light.

Darby and her co-writer Emily Stone brought A Lonely Realization to TSGP for the 2023 Script Development Festival, presenting the original 45 minute one-act at the MLK FAME Center.  Following that original reading, AD Rebecca O'Neil connected Darby & Emily with TSGP board member Buddy Todd as a dramaturg, and the three of them engaged in a year long writing and development process to build the script out from 40 to 88 pages.

Rebecca directed the full production of A Lonely Realization in 2024, featuring Darby, Emily, and additional actor Lexi Warden. Other artists involved in the all female and non-binary team of designers, actors, director, and stage management, included current board member Alison Kozar on sound design, former board member Lara Kratz on costume design, brought returning ASM Hana Oh backstage; and introduced Kyleigh Archer, Alicia Crowley, Clair Kaminski and Cami Taliaferro-Barber to the TSGP team.
