YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women. We envision an inclusive and thriving community, transformed by racial and gender equity, with peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.

Description

With more than 20 locations across two counties, YWCA is a social justice organization that creates real change for almost 8,000 people in Seattle, King, and Snohomish counties each year.

YWCA offers a variety of housing programs and owns over 1,000 units of housing, connecting our program participants and permanent housing residents with community resources to help ensure their long-term success. We take a holistic approach that includes ALL the services that families need to thrive: housing, case management, job training, financial wellness, and access to health care.

When anyone in our community is hurting, it affects us all. The time has come to create a healthy and joy filled community, where women and girls of color have equal access to opportunity and resources to pursue their full potential. We must work together to fight for justice, because the future deserves all of us.

 2023 Highlights:

• 67% of people exiting YWCA shelter and homelessness prevention programs moved into permanent housing.
• 1,371 people received domestic violence support and advocacy.
• Our Central Area Food Bank provided over 6,500 pounds of food a week to over 304 families.
