Mission

Our mission is to develop people to the highest standards of integrity, truth, work ethic, perseverance, dedication, desire, and reciprocity through the sport of gymnastics.

In addition to the values stated above, we also champion Diversity and Inclusion by offering opportunities for gymnasts to compete regardless of their background, while promoting a view of the gymnastics community that reaches far beyond Washington, the Pacific Northwest, and even the United States.

Who We Are

We are a self-funded, highly competitive, collegiate men's gymnastics team of hard working student-athletes from all over the nation. 

What: The Washington Men's Gymnastics Foundation (WMGF), founded in 1994, supports the team's growth with an organized, goal-oriented methodology and has helped transform the surviving program into a thriving, competitive, stable team. 

Who: Comprised of former UW alumni gymnasts, friends of gymnastics, and a current team member, the Foundation meets monthly to chart out the success of the program and keep it on schedule. 

Why: The Foundation's goals are to raise operating funds for the men's team while also creating a groundswell of interest in gymnastics in general.

How: Most of the funds are raised by the work of the athletes, such as ushering Husky football games, setting up and tearing down events for the University, moving gymnastics equipment for local competitions, and selling concessions at competitions. These activities requires a large time commitment outside of schoolwork and training, and teach the gymnasts how to budget time and prioritize. We also are supported by alumni donations, renting out our scoring system, and a yearly raffle.

Where: These fundraising activities raise enough for us to provide academic scholarships for the team members each year. Funds pay for travel to six or seven competitions within the United States each year, and for international training camps/competitions every two or three years. Dollars raised also pay for coaching, uniforms and equipment.
