Mission

The Unemployment Law Project advises and represents unemployed workers in Washington State in unemployment hearings. Unemployment insurance benefits stem the devastation of losing a job and prevent homelessness. Due to COVID, we all know someone who has relied on unemployment benefits to make ends meet. This organization serves people who cannot afford legal representation at the time they need it most.

Description

The Unemployment Law Project provides free advice and representation in Washington State unemployment insurance administrative hearings. Established in 1984, ULP is a 501(c)(c) non-profit legal aid office funded by the Legal Foundation of Washington, the Campaign for Equal Justice, King County, labor unions, and individual donors. Since the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic there has been a substantial increase in calls to ULP office in both Seattle and Spokane. Thousands of unemployed workers around the state are being denied unemployment insurance. Your contribution will allow ULP to hire more staff to respond to the crisis and keep people in their homes.
