Mission

The Sophia Way is place of hope and change for women. The organization supports them on their journey from homelessness to safe and stable living. Women find a warm, safe space to take a shower, rest, and sleep, and nourishing food. Case managers partner with women to support their physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.

Description

There are more than 16,385 people who are without homes in King County (according to the 2024 PIT Count).

The Sophia Way offers women experiencing homelessness a warm, safe space to take a shower, rest, and sleep, and nourishing food to give them strength. Our case managers respect each woman’s lived experience and appropriately respond to their trauma. This approach helps them understand what women need to move forward. For some, that’s reuniting with family. Others need a transitional home with support. Many seniors and women with disabilities simply need a safe apartment they can afford on a fixed income.

At our shelters, women have the space and time to heal and take the next steps on their journey to stability.

What Does Stability Mean?

"… a solid foundation to rebuild the life I was meant to live.”

"… being productive for me, my family, and my community.”

"… getting out of the quicksand and walking on solid ground.”
