Mission

TINFA empowers teachers to bring 21st century skills to children in under-served areas of the world, specifically in rural Guatemala

Description

In rural Guatemala many children face significant hurdles in pursuing education beyond 6th grade, which deeply impacts their futures and their communities. Girls are especially vulnerable, experiencing higher dropout rates. TINFA is dedicated to addressing these challenges.

By providing schools with laptops, internet access, hands-on teacher training, assistance with curriculum development, and workbooks, TINFA equips educators to make the most of the technology provided. We also provide scholarships for students, especially girls, to encourage attendance. In 2024, 83% of students in TINFA-supported schools, advanced to middle school an impressive improvement compared to other rural schools in Guatemala.

Your support will help us continue our work in helping children through our partner schools in rural Guatemala, opening doors to lifelong opportunities.

Our goal for GiveBig 2025 is $15,000 and this year a generous group of donors will match your contribution up to $5,000.

Here’s how your GiveBIG gift can help:

$75: 1 year scholarship for 1 girl

$100: Audio system for 1 school

$250: Field trip for 25 sixth graders to visit middle school

$500: Internet Access for 1 school for 1 year

$1,000:   1 computer for 1 school

$2,000:   1 computer and 1 projector for 1 school

$5,000:   All equipment for 1 school

TINFA firmly believes that giving children in underserved areas an opportunity to improve their education and skills will greatly contribute to their ability to support their family and their community.

Together we can help children keep learning, paving brighter futures in rural Guatemala.

Recognition

Your gift will have a greater IMPACT as a group of passionate and committed TINFA supporters will match your donation at 50%, up to $5,000.
