SOUND's Mission

Our mission is improving lives by providing equitable, recovery focused behavioral health care for all in our community.

For Nearly 60 Years, Sound Has Opened Doors to Hope & Healing

Sound Behavioral Health has been a trusted resource in King County for nearly six decades, providing life-changing behavioral health care to over 19,000 people each year. As one of the region’s largest nonprofit providers, we offer compassionate, recovery-focused care—meeting people where they are and ensuring they have the support they need to heal and thrive.

Even in times of crisis, Sound remains a stable and reliable support system, offering in-person and telehealth services to keep people in recovery, out of hospitals, and on the path to wellness. With 16 locations and mobile crisis teams, we are committed to making care accessible for all.

At Sound, we believe everyone deserves access to high-quality behavioral health care—regardless of their ability to pay. The vast majority of our clients do not have private insurance; they are working families, single parents, veterans, seniors, young adults, and people from all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. They are part of our community, and they deserve care.

Your support changes lives. When you invest in Sound, you help build a stronger, healthier community where everyone has the opportunity to heal and thrive.

Thank you for making a difference!
