Seattle Children’s Museum continues to be a staple non-profit institution in the greater Seattle community, immersing generations in play and exploration for 44 years. Over our four decades, we’ve seen bright faces and smiles, heard laughter, and watched as children have reached developmental milestones crucial to cementing the foundation for their futures. Seattle Children’s Museum has been at the very core of cherished lasting memories, family traditions, and is itself a Seattle Legacy.  

Just as Seattle has grown and changed over the years, the Seattle Children’s Museum you know and love must continue to adapt to best serve our community. Since our founding in 1980, we’ve learned more from research about play’s critical role in child development, growth, and learning; the importance of access to play-based learning environments in the wake of rising costs of living and raising children in our community; and the need to create a Museum where all children and their adults continue to be welcome and respected.  To the families that visit Seattle Children’s Museum once a week, and to the families that haven’t been able to visit yet, we are here for you, and we want to continue to show up for you in all the ways you want, and in all the ways you need.   

Since our pandemic shutdown, we’ve listened, researched, and planned to revitalize and expand how we serve Seattle’s children and their adults, but we need your support to make our wildest dreams a reality. As Seattle Children’s Museum participates in #GiveBIGWashington, we ask for your generosity to support this crucial effort to help us expand our offerings and programs, create new exhibit experiences, and broaden our access initiatives.
