The Plus One Foundation mobilizes resources to inspire hope and enrich the lives of those affected by neurological conditions and educate the community about related issues.

Description

The Plus One Foundation was started in 2011. Throughout our years of operations, we have developed and hosted unique workshops and fundraisers such as the Art Care for Everyone Workshop and The Bond Bingo Night Fundraiser. The workshops we offer are free of charge so people with neurological disorders can participate in group activities while learning skills to cope with their injuries and assist with their therapy. Our fundraisers are killer events, we work all year long to execute. We want donors to have a fun, eventful experience while educating them on the importance of supporting our community. Beside our events, we have also perfected three unique grants offered to those affected by neurological diseases and disorders. The Occasions Grant funds daily or weekly therapies, classes, workshops, or other activities that offer rehabilitation but are rarely covered by insurance. This grant is meant not only to facilitate healing for the participant but true to its name, provides an occasion from which the benefactor can derive true enjoyment and pleasure. The One Grant is named after the foundation itself. It is designed to be a once in a lifetime opportunity, providing an individual with a neurological disorder the chance to have a life-changing experience. The Mary "Mermaid" McKillop Fund Grant provides three-month swim passes to people who utilize swimming as part of their rehabilitation.

For Kacey, founding the Plus One Foundation has been a chance to give back. "Through simply believing in one person, you can impact countless others without ever realizing it. This is the goal of the Plus One Foundation: For every person, we are able to help with a grant, a thousand more individuals are impacted within that person's network. I will continue to believe and help these people, just as others continued to help and believe in me."
