Mission

Pigs Peace Sanctuary is a place of tranquility and happiness located one hour north of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a safe home for unwanted, abused or neglected animals in need and we are committed to spreading the message of compassion and respect for all animals.

Description

In 1994 I rescued our first pig and my path became clear. Our family of animal friends has blossomed. If someone had told me I would be doing this work I would have responded... How?? How would it be possible? I now know that love finds a way. We provide a permanent safe loving home to many here at the sanctuary. We have educated and touched the lives of countless visitors including school children, children who greet the animals with such curiosity and delight. Our message of love and respect for all animals is carried away with each visitor.

All these pigs freely roam their 39 acres of meadow and forestland with ponds and trails, deciding for themselves where to sleep, graze, root and explore. Sleeping in the large barn, the smaller sheds and huts, or even the cozy suites for two under the trees. All sleeping areas are filled with soft hay for bedding. They also choose their own schedules with some pigs getting up early while others sleep in. Most importantly, they form loving, lifelong friendships and social groups.

I have witnessed the love people give to animals (be it volunteers scooping poop in the pouring rain, building a barn, clearing underbrush, delivering produce, cleaning barns and a willingness to help whatever the situation.

It is love that flourishes here, a love every animal discovers when they arrive. Look into the eyes of all those who live here and you will see it. Look into the hopeful faces of the children and other visitors and you will see it. Come visit and you will witness the love these animals share with us.
