People's Memorial Association (PMA) is the trusted resource and thought-leader for funeral choice, education, and advocacy in Washington State. We envision a future where everyone has access to after-death arrangements that reflect their personal values and resources.

Description

When a death of a loved one occurs, the process should not have to be filled with shock and awe. People's Memorial Association (PMA) is poised to offer people a realistic snapshot of what’s ahead, how to prepare, and align those resources with someone’s personal wishes. We at PMA promote personal choice for finding a service that makes sense for them. We provide funeral education that answers your biggest questions; tools to protect your end-of-life needs; consumer advocacy at both the local and national levels; affordable, dignified deathcare; and knowledgeable, compassionate staff. 

In addition to our educational workshops, our website is loaded with free worksheets and forms (for your end of life planning, designated agent, other legal information), a vast webinar library on topics such as Estate Planning, Advance Directives, and finally, the jewel of our organization, membership. 

The ultimate gift of preparedness, PMA membership assures access to substantial savings on the cost of funeral care. Since 1939, we have been the thought-leader for funeral choice, education, and advocacy in Washington State. PMA was created in the height of the co-operative movement in the US to establish an alternative to the high prices and predatory sales practices of the funeral industry. There are currently over 72,000 living members in Washington State, and we have served well over 220,000 families.

We have the infrastructure in place to provide resolutions, resources, guidance, and service to a population of people who want to be prepared for the inevitable end, whether this be well in advance or through the confusion of grief, our staff is experienced with helping people at all stages of this human condition.
