Mission

Parent Trust is a child abuse prevention agency. We equip parents and caregivers to raise safe, healthy and strong children. We specialize in reaching parents recovering from substance addiction, and/or homelessness, parents with low income, and parents who lived through child abuse and neglect as children. We create strong families and keep kids out of foster care.  Parent Trust serves 15,000 people every year.

We work with parents to keep stress and adversity from becoming tragedy.

Parent Trust is constantly innovating and adapting to meet families where they are when they need us the most. Individual donations give us the funds to do this.

When Kiera called us looking for a new parent class, our staff was able to take the time to assess her needs and offer her comprehensive support. Alone, pregnant, and living in temporary housing, Kiera described herself as depressed, lonely, and homesick.

Our staff quickly signed her up for one of our Great Starts online new parent class series, and provided her with the laptop she needed to attend. And our Family Help Line Coaches helped Kiera find ongoing culturally appropriate parenting support, and the mental health support she knew she needed, but could not access on her own.

Today, Kiera and her baby are safe - and they have hope for the future. None of this happens without you!

We provide critical services for families with risk factors such as poverty, substance addiction, and personal histories of Adverse Childhood Experiences - all of which leave children at risk for abuse, neglect, poor health outcomes - and continues the generational cycle of trauma.

Our research-based programs include our Family Help Line which provides customized parent coaching and resources, Developmental Screenings, New Parent Classes, Stress Management Training, and Support Groups for parents recovering from substance addiction and homelessness.
