Mission
The Northwest Avalanche Center exists to increase avalanche awareness, reduce avalanche impacts, and equip the community with mountain weather and avalanche forecasts, education, and data.
Description
The Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) is a collaborative effort between the US Forest Service Northwest Avalanche Center and the non-profit Northwest Avalanche Center. The two organizations work together to provide daily mountain weather and avalanche forecasts, maintain a system of mountain weather stations, and provide free avalanche education for everyone recreating in the wintertime PNW mountains.
