NFFTY / The Talented Youth

A nonprofit organization

For the past seventeen years, NFFTY has been an important launching pad for emerging filmmakers, preparing young creatives for a challenging and evolving industry. We champion the next generation of filmmakers, providing them with a world-class platform to showcase their work, network and learn.

We champion the next generation of filmmakers, providing them with a world class platform to showcase their work, network, and learn. We support filmmakers through our annual festival, distribution opportunities, continued educational opportunities and year-round programming by and for alumni.

NFFTY seeks to support emerging filmmakers from around the world. We raise the voices of young film professionals, with a focus on ensuring that women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those from traditionally marginalized communities have representation. We ensure that emerging filmmakers are represented and given a platform to share their perspectives. Please help us reach our goal.

By donating to NFFTY, you are championing new and vital voices!

Your gift ensures that NFFTY is able to keep building this inclusive community of emerging filmmakers, creating more equitable opportunities for filmmakers of all backgrounds to get a career boost during a pivotal time in their artistic and professional development.

Our Alumni On The NFFTY Experience

“The film that I submitted was the first film where I really used my own voice, literally and also figuratively, with a strong political opinion in the film. And so getting that pat on the back confirmation I was doing as an artist was an amazing way to kick off being 18 and in film school and going for the first time.”

JESSICA STOSSEL (NFFTY ‘18, ‘20, ‘22)
Creative Producer

“Without NFFTY I would have never met someone who understands me for who I am. That’s huge.”

CHRISTINA XING (NFFTY ‘19, ‘20, ‘22)
Director and Creative Director

“I think that’s like the most magical thing about NFFTY, is that being a young filmmaker is kind of a lonely task. There’s people scattered all around the country and all around the world pursuing this craft, and this festival unites them and builds community between them.”

LEO PFEIFER (NFFTY ‘12, '13, '14, '15, '16, '17, ’18, ‘20, ‘22, '23)
Director

"Every film festival sort of has its own kind of vibe and energy, and I think when you think about NFFTY, it's like community and celebration. Those are kind of the two things that stand out in my mind, and I’ve always, always felt that."

RAYKA ZEHTABCHI (NFFTY ‘16, '17, ‘18)
Oscar-Winning Director
