Mode Music and Performing Arts’ mission is to bring accessible arts education to Seattle’s kids, through in-school and after-school enrichment programs at local schools, classes and camps at our classroom space in West Seattle, and private music lesson scholarships for instruction at Mode Music Studios.
MMPA was created to address disparities in arts education. As public schools lost arts funding, a shift felt especially by Title I schools, our local students were losing access to arts education. Our founder, Erin Rubin, established MMPA to partner with public schools whose arts program funding had been reduced or eliminated, and to provide innovative performing arts programs with free and discounted pricing options.
As MMPA has grown, our offerings have expanded to include pay-what-you-can music and performing arts classes and camps, eliminating financial barriers to arts education for many local families.
MMPA’s ability to offer accessible arts programs is entirely because of people like you. Funds raised during GiveBIG will help support our private lesson scholarship program and free after-school enrichment classes for Title I schools. That means, if we reach our GiveBIG goal of $10,000, we can allocate $5,000 to music lesson scholarships and $5,000 to free classes for Title I schools.
In 2023 alone, we served over 700 students! Here’s a snapshot of what we were able to accomplish last year, thanks to donors like you:
Thank you for believing in the importance of accessible arts education for kids. We are so grateful for our community’s support.
