Mission

Over 50 years of providing care for our community. HealthPoint's commitment to health equity and access for all has never been more important. With 11 comprehensive medical clinics, seven dental clinics, five school-based health centers, as well as co-located primary care services locations with community partners, HealthPoint is a key point of entry for people who face barriers to accessing health care.

Description

HealthPoint's story began in 1971 as a grassroots community effort to make quality health care accessible to everyone in King County. Today HealthPoint is the largest community health care provider in King County, with more than 850 staff caring for over 100,000 people of all ages each year. Our mission is to strengthen communities and improve people's health by delivering quality health care services, breaking down barriers and providing access to all.

As a federally qualified health center, HealthPoint's purpose is to increase health equity by understanding how social determinants of health and structural racism impact health outcomes and specifically targeting services to people with low income, poor health, limited resources and barriers to accessing health care. No one is turned away because of inability to pay, or other circumstances.

HealthPoint is distinguished by: 

• A patient-majority governing board of directors.
• Integrated whole-person model of care that gives patients a single door to health; multi-professional care team that works together to address their whole-health needs.
• Services include: preventive and primary medical care, OB/GYN care, dental care, behavioral health care, naturopathic care, substance use disorder treatment, social support linkage and case management, insurance enrollment assistance, nutrition counseling, acupuncture and educational group visits.
• 11 comprehensive medical clinics, seven dental clinics, five school-based health centers, and co-located primary care services at Cynthia A. Green Family Center, and Sunset Neighborhood Center. 
• Of the 100,000 patients we serve, 93% are low-income, 60% are Medicaid insured, 19% are uninsured, and 60% are racially and ethnically diverse.

HealthPoint's philosophy of care is based on the belief that everyone has a right to high quality, comprehensive health care that is accessible, culturally and linguistically competent, community-based, and patient-centered. Our purpose is providing access to health care services in the communities that need them most.

Because of our generous supporters and mission-focused staff, in 2021 HealthPoint: 

• Provided 30,218+ COVID-19 vaccinations
• Administered 119,629+ COVID-19 tests
• Served our community with 270,515+ patient visits
• Opened two new School-Based Health Centers in Federal Way - providing over 3,000 visits to students
• Provided care to 1,950+ patients experiencing homelessness
• Served 549 people facing food insecurity with our emergency food delivery program - including 192 children under age 18
• Expanded dental services in SeaTac - now serving 250+ patients each month
• Provided $3,281,114 in Uncompensated Care made possible by donors like you
