For over 30 years, FareStart has been more than just and organization - we've been a catalyst for change, helping people break free from the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and hunger through the power of food.

Escaping poverty isn't just about finding a job - it's about overcoming barriers that stand in the way of success.  That's where FareStart comes in. Through our programs, we empower individuals with the life and job skills they need to thrive in the food service industry - and in life. At FareStart, students do more than learn - they gain real-world experience while making a meaningful impact. Whether preparing and serving meals in the FareStart Restaurant, crafting coffee at the FareStart Cafe, or preparing box lunch orders, they build the skills and confidence for successful careers. Through our Food Pathways and Barista & Customer Service programs, they graduate ready to pursue lasting personal and economic growth.

But we don't stop there. Through our Food Recovery Program, we rescue high-quality food that might otherwise go to waste - working with local farmers, grocers, and donors to turn it into nutritious meals for those in need. Our Mobile Community Market, introduced in response to the pandemic, is one of the many ways we strive to increase food security and break down barriers - bringing fresh, health food directly to historically underserved communities.
