Domestic Abuse Women's Network

A nonprofit organization

Mission

Domestic Abuse Women's Network (DAWN) is a full-service domestic violence agency that supports, empowers, and shelters survivors and their families. DAWN provides critical, life-saving services each year with our various programs. We offer safety planning, emergency shelter, legal aid, advocacy, support groups, and education for survivors. We invite you to be a partner with us in our mission to bring safety and peace to these families.

Description

DAWN provides advocacy and supportive services that empower individuals, families, and communities to live safe and compassionate lives. Abuse thrives in isolation, and the pandemic has intensified the need for our life-saving services. With police departments reporting alarming increases in domestic violence incidents, our work has increased exponentially. Our organization provides legal advocacy, mobile advocacy, mental health therapy, support groups, child advocacy, TANF advocacy, confidential emergency shelter, 24-hour advocacy and support line, and a recently expanded healthy relationship violence prevention program for youth and young adults. With 40 years of experience, DAWN is highly skilled to provide for the increased need for services in our region.

2022 Goal

This year DAWN is working hard to raise $20,000 to update and repair vital areas of our 24-hour emergency family shelter and our Gowe Street facilities. We thank you so much for all your support!  It greatly impacts how many services we can provide to our survivors, and we can’t do this important work without our amazing donors, such as yourself.
