Mission
Since 1964, Crisis Connections has been a trusted nonprofit serving Seattle, King County, and Washington State. Our mission is to foster resilience and well-being for all by connecting people to accessible and compassionate support. Besides our helplines, we support survivors of suicide, provide community outreach, and offer youth suicide prevention education. Our crisis and resource phone lines support more than 500,000 people annually and are available in 150+ languages. This is all possible thanks to 320 staff, 300 volunteers, dozens of community partners, and thousands of donors and advocates.
Description
Crisis Connections is a lifeline for thousands of individuals and families each year. Our telephone and online support services are free and easily accessible to anyone in our community experiencing a crisis. Many of our callers are in emotional distress or mental health crisis, considering suicide, living unsheltered or at risk for homelessness, and looking for help with basic needs. We offer caring, compassionate support, crisis intervention, and connections to critical resources. Our programs also act as an entry point into various health and human services, including emergency assistance programs for mental health, housing, rent/utility payments, or civil legal matters. Our core programs include 988 and 24-Hour Crisis Lines, 211 for essential needs assistance, Teen Link and Warm Line for peer support, the WA Recovery Line, plus support after suicide programs.
Recognition
Crisis Connections, formerly Crisis Clinic, carries out our mission with the help of many dedicated and generous community supporters. We receive financial support from government entities, corporations, foundations, and many caring individual donors. Each year, 300+ volunteers also contribute nearly 35,000 hours of service, providing compassionate support to people who call us for help. Thank you for supporting our mission and providing hope and healing to people in crisis!
