Mission

Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) is a Seattle-based nonprofit that educates employers to prevent human trafficking and creates pathways to employment for survivors.

Vision

BEST launched in 2012 with a single vision: prevent human trafficking. Today, we are preventing human trafficking across the US and around the globe because we believe that every person has the right to be free from commercial sexual exploitation and forced labor.

Description

GIVE BIG to help prevent human trafficking and support survivors.

Human trafficking is a serious crime that happens in our communities every day. It happens when force, fraud, or coercion are used to compel a person into work or the sex trade, or any time a minor performs a commercial sex act. Human trafficking can happen to anyone. But traffickers disproportionately target people from marginalized communities, including foster care youth, people of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, Indigenous women and girls, immigrants, and people with disabilities.

BEST provides critical training that helps trafficking victims, who may otherwise go unnoticed at hotels, airports, transit centers, seaports, and in other workplaces. This helps more victims be able to get the help they need and leave their traffickers.

Once a victim has been identified and is able to leave their trafficker, they often need help to rebuild their life. BEST works with employers to offer job opportunities for survivors of human trafficking right here in the Puget Sound region so survivors can gain financial independence.

This work would not be possible without the generosity of charitable donations. This Give BIG, will you make a gift to support victims of human trafficking? Each gift makes a BIG impact and can change the life of a survivor in need.

Recognition

A huge thank you to BEST's board members and special donors, who contributed to this year's matching pool in order to maximize your donations!
