The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art inspires curiosity, wonder and understanding by connecting people with the contemporary art and craft of the Puget Sound region.
The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) is located on Bainbridge Island, across from the ferry terminal with easy access from Seattle. BIMA offers free admission and is open 10 am - 5 pm 363 days per year. Since its' opening in June 2013, BIMA has served almost 450,000 visitors from the local area and across the nation and the world.
BIMA rotates three exhibitions per year, promoting and uplifting artists and the contemporary art and craft of the Puget Sound region. Educational opportunities and celebrations tied to the current exhibitions include field trips for K- 12 students, hands-on art activities for children and adults, artist talks, film series, concerts, member exhibition parties, and other cultural celebrations like the Within/Earshot Jazz Festival, Momentum Arts Festival, Black History Month Soiree, and the Dia de los Muertos Community Celebration.
BIMA collaborates with diverse community partners, local art galleries and other museums and cultural groups in Seattle, Kitsap County, The Olympic Peninsulas, and the greater Puget Sound region. We are a museum that is community-centric and that is a something that makes this organization so special.
Bainbridge Island Museum of Art would like to thank our generous Members and donors whose contributions support free admission 363 days a year and all of the critical programming mentioned above. Member and donors truly are the heart of BIMA.
