To advocate for environmental progress and justice through actions that mobilize the public, elect champions for the environment, and hold our leaders accountable. 

Description

At Washington Conservation Action (formerly Washington Conservation Voters) our vision is that all people in Washington state have a healthy environment and a strong, sustainable economy. We do that by ensuring Washington's decision-makers keep our environment protected, healthy, and vibrant. We elect people who will champion the environment, hold our elected leaders accountable, and build statewide momentum and power for environmental campaigns through innovative voter outreach efforts and community organizing.

WCA wins elections for the environment. Washington Conservation Action identifies, recruits, and helps elect pro-environment candidates at the local and state level. Key to our success is our ability to mobilize volunteers to doorbell and phone bank for environmental champions across the state.

WCA holds our elected leaders accountable. We publish a scorecard that sheds light on the effectiveness of legislators on environmental issues and gives voters the information that they need to hold their representatives accountable. But accountability is more than just a scorecard and we look to highlight and support those leaders who are doing great work and encourage constituent outreach to those who need to do more.

WCA provides strategy and focus for Washington's environmental community. We help lead the effort that brings together the environmental community around shared legislative priorities that we jointly advocate. Additionally, we provide grassroots and strategic support to other environmental campaigns, to establish a broad base of support that helps ensure success.
