Washington Association of Land Trusts

A nonprofit organization

Mission

The Washington Association of Land Trusts works to conserve land and water by strengthening land trusts across Washington State.

Description

The Washington Association of Land Trusts (WALT) unites the land conservation community, to accelerate work to protect and steward the special lands and waters of Washington State.

WALT serves as the backbone of the land trust community, driving strategic conservation, enhancing collaboration and communication, and ensuring policy making supports conservation. Working with our members, we have achieved huge wins for conservation funding and policy, ensuring that land trusts can continue working with willing landowners across the state to conserve our land and water.

Together, our members have conserved over 1 million acres of wildlife habitat, parks and trails, and working lands across Washington State. Our land trusts represent over 60,000 supporters, staff, and volunteers who are passionate about protecting our lands and waters for today and for future generations.
