Mission

Ventures is a Seattle-based nonprofit that empowers aspiring entrepreneurs with limited resources and unlimited potential. We provide access to business training, capital, coaching, and hands-on learning opportunities for entrepreneurs. We serve those in our community for whom traditional business development services are out of reach, with a focus on women, people of color, immigrants, and individuals with low income. Our ultimate goal is to support individuals to increase their income potential, achieve long-term financial stability, provide for their families, and enrich their communities through small business ownership. 

Your impact

When you give to Ventures, you support entrepreneurs who are eager to succeed as small business owners but lack access to the resources such as capital, business training, and networking, to do so. With your gift, you can help us eliminate these obstacles for small business owners, enabling them to thrive in our community.

Your gift will ensure that we can provide the following business development services to local entrepreneurs:

• Courses and workshops on business basics, marketing, operations, financial management and more specialized topics. 
• Free, personalized one-on-one business coaching. 
• Access to Capital through microloans up to $50,000, grants ranging from $500 to $5,000, and lease support for businesses in brick-and-mortar locations. 
• Hands-on incubation opportunities through Ventures Marketplace, our retail store in Pike Place Market where more than 50 entrepreneurs sell their products and get coaching from retail experts on pricing, display, packaging and production. We also partner with Seattle Commissary Kitchen to offer Ventures entrepreneur affordable kitchen space.
• Our Advocacy Program empowers entrepreneurs to educate their representatives about the importance of small and micro-business in our community. We also host an annual Advocacy Day at the state capitol.
