Mission

Our mission is building better health, stable housing, and a community of support for people living with mental illness. Our goal is to provide safe housing and behavioral health treatment to ensure our clients have successful lives in the community, staying off the streets and outside of institutions.

Description

Transitional Resources serves people living with the most serious and persistent forms of mental illness. The key to our work is pairing our spectrum of behavioral health treatment with permanent, affordable housing in the community. This helps break the cycle of homelessness, hospitalization, and incarceration that people with mental illness too often face. Our clients demonstrate that with the right supports in place, people living with even the most serious diagnoses can thrive. 

Community behavioral health programs like TR are a key component in combating homelessness and providing access to behavioral health treatment for people with the highest needs. TR costs less than institutions or hospitals, provides better outcomes for clients and the community, and preserves the safety and dignity that we all deserve. 

Our services offer long-term solutions to long-term challenges. TR serves people who need ongoing support, without expiration or a deadline. Clients maintain their housing and continue receiving behavioral health treatment from us to remain safe and stable through their lives. We have clients who have struggled on the streets or in our state hospital for many years, who are now thriving with TR’s support. Funds raised through GiveBIG will go directly to supporting staff and services, supplementing gaps in the budget to support clients’ ongoing needs, and cover other unexpected costs to ensure uninterrupted support remains available to those we serve.
