TransFamilies

A nonprofit organization

We are celebrating COMMUNITY!

Community is about connecting and supporting each other.

And our TransFamilies community is a beautiful place to do just that.

What does TransFamilies do?

We support parents with trans/nonbinary children with programs for parents and their trans children.

And how do we do that?

With our community!

Our community of staff, volunteers, and families come together to say

“We want parents and children to know what it’s like to feel supported in their full selves”

TransFamilies’ programs for parents provide a nonjudgmental space where they can address their apprehensions away from their children, deepen learning, and connect with other families. We are here to validate the concerns and fears of parents so they can, in turn, provide their children with the best support and most informed care they can get. We provide online support groups for parents, special topic webinars, parent discussion forums, online access to resources and staff, and more. We strive to eliminate access barriers, including financial and geographic, to provide resources largely unavailable to families otherwise.

Parents in our community also benefit from our youth programs available exclusively to our members' children. Our groups for trans children, teens, and young adults connect them with peers, decrease their feelings of isolation and offer space where they can bring their full selves and engage in conversation, play games, seek advice, practice leadership skills, or simply find a sympathetic ear.

In short, we change lives.

We’ll be showing you how amazing our community is for the next two days but you can start by watching Amy’s story below!
