Mission

Shunpike empowers artists through equitable access to vital expertise, opportunities, and business services.

Description

Shunpike envisions a community where independent artists and arts groups thrive, creatively and economically, and where their work is widely valued as fundamental to the cultural, social, and economic well-being of Washington State. We do this by providing Fiscal Sponsorship to 160+ arts groups, Arts Business Advice, and a variety of community programs such as Storefronts, Amazon Artist in Residence, and Artists of Color Expo & Symposium (ACES).

We are also excited to be placing art and artists in visible spaces in Downtown Seattle, such as The Studio at 2+U, a free-for-artists 1,100-square-foot rehearsal space. In addition, with support from the City of Seattle's Office of Economic Development and in partnership with the Seattle Good Business Network, we are activating 35 vacant storefront spaces through summer 2022.
