About Us

Seattle REconomy (formerly Sustainable NE Seattle) was founded in 2013 with the goal of addressing climate change, resource depletion and economic instability at a community level. Inspired by the work of Sustainable Ballard at the outset, and the worldwide Transition Movement soon after, we have organized numerous events and projects that educate and inspire our community to take action to address the many problems that we face. From our annual Skills Fair to opening the NE Seattle Tool Library, our events and projects focus on sharing, repurposing and learning new skills in order to reduce our collective resource use. We feel strongly that working together side by side on practical projects is the best way to build a strong community.

In 2024, we opened a second tool library in Shoreline, complete with reused building materials to help with DIY projects. Fix-it Night

We offer tool loans, bike sales and repair, seed library, toy library, game library, fix-it night, DIY classes, and 3D printing. Come see us today!Volunteer Appreciation
