The Seattle Ladies Choir is a non-audition contemporary choir that provides an inclusive, supportive community for 60+ members with varying musical experience.

Description

Seattle Ladies Choir (SLC) is open to all self-identified women over the age of 21 and provides a diverse, talented group of women the opportunity to learn and perform contemporary choral songs. The choir promotes practices that are inclusive, safe, and supportive. Our guiding principles include bonding over the joys of music, empowering a strong sense of community, and sharing these positive experiences with the greater Seattle audience.

SLC is the only large non-audition chorus in the city of Seattle to focus exclusively on contemporary popular music. By foregoing auditions, SLC is able to embrace a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and ages, providing a safe space for members to build a community and perform in a professional setting. We are also unique in allowing our membership a democratic voice in music selection, with members voting on the songs that we sing each season.

SLC's varied tastes and talents shine through in our biannual concerts, during which the women perform songs by artists ranging from Radiohead to Nina Simone to Simon & Garfunkel. Our distinctive repertoire appeals to a broad range of ages and attracts a unique membership that isn't typically served by other choral opportunities in the region.
