Mission

The Seattle Art Museum (SAM) connects art to life. As a leading visual art institution in the Pacific Northwest, SAM draws on its global collections, powerful exhibitions, and dynamic programs to provide unique educational resources that enrich lives and engage diverse audiences across Seattle, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond.

Description

For over 90 years SAM has been at the heart of the artistic community providing our audiences with a wide array of exceptional programming that serves nearly 800,000 visitors across our three distinct locations. During this 48-hour period of giving, we turn to those of you who have experienced SAM's engaging and meaningful exhibitions and experiences and know how important the arts are to a strong and revitalized community.

Your donation of any amount will directly impact the museum's ability to:

•Serve as the region's visual arts leader by providing exceptional art-focused experiences for our community, including educators and audiences of all ages with diverse interests
•Care for and preserve our world-class collection nearly 25,000 objects including the maintenance of our buildings and park grounds at our three dynamic locations
•Develop new exhibitions and scholarship, including shows featuring artists like Ai Weiwei, Thaddeus Mosley, Tariqa Waters, FriendsWithYou, and many others
