$20,000 Goal
Celebrating 20 years of circus with Give Big in 2024
SANCA's mission is to improve the mental, emotional, and physical health of children of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities by engaging them in the joyous creativity of acrobatics and circus arts. Our innovative circus arts programs offer rewarding experiences that are physically challenging, and socially enriching, and encourage creativity in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. SANCA and Emerald City Trapeze Arts offer classes, camps, and shows in Seattle, Washington.
Help us hit our spring goal of raising $20,000.
You can change lives. Give the gift of the joy of circus arts. In the past, funds have supported scholarships, outreach programs, youth companies, and shows.
SANCA is home to people of any age or skill level looking for a fun, holistic way to physically express themselves. Our circus arts programs broaden community engagement, reach diverse audiences, and encourage participation in the arts. Programs include classes and camps, a Youth Performance Program, Artist Residencies, performances and shows, and more.
SANCA provides youth with a safe, social, constructive environment for physical literacy and arts education. We partner with other organizations to bring circus to other neighborhoods and to youth who lack access. Partners include schools, community centers, and other non-profit organizations. Populations include immigrant and refugee youth, youth who are facing homelessness, and families who have the least access and opportunity to participate in healthy, creative, physical arts.
Circus is a highly accessible art form that offers many opportunities for people of differing abilities. We include people in our classes who have learning differences, trauma-related or mood disorders, or physical disabilities. Personal and social development is supported by nurturing self-esteem and helping to build trust in others, acquire social skills, express creativity, and realize one's own potential.
SANCA's Youth Scholarship Fund provides need-based tuition support for youth who are low-income. In 2020 SANCA expanded this fund with a dedicated BIPOC Youth Scholarship to guarantee additional support for youth of color. Over the last 20 years, SANCA has provided $2 million in tuition aid to over 7000 youth.
