Methow Recycles

A nonprofit organization

Mission

Methow Recycles inspires and facilitates resource conservation through recycling, waste prevention, and materials reuse in rural Washington.

Description

Methow Recycles is a waste prevention and recycling organization that has been helping our community in the Methow reduce waste since 2002. We proudly encourage reduce, reuse, and repair through our waste prevention programs: ReMake Center, Share Library, and Repair Cafe. As the valley's recycler, we receive and ship all recycling generated in the Methow Valley, whether delivered by our valley's local hauler, WasteWise, visitors, residents, or business owners. We are also exploring local partnerships to create a salvage program where usable building materials from demolition projects are kept in circularity.

Last year during Give Big, we asked you to help us launch a residential compost program and since that time, our community has diverted over one and a half tons of food waste from the landfill through our compost program!

This year, we are building on our community's enthusiasm for repair, share, reuse, compost, and salvage. Your financial support will go toward sustaining these programs, many of which are free or reduced cost to encourage equity and accessibility so that everyone can be a part of the solution. Join our community in making the Methow Valley a more circular, low-waste place to live!
