Mary's Place ensures that no child sleeps outside by centering equity and opportunity for women and families.
Homelessness impacts our entire community. Hundreds of families are unsheltered in cars, tents, and encampments. These are our neighbors, co-workers, and even our children’s classmates.
The King County Family Emergency Shelter Intake Line is taking an unprecedented volume of calls. Each day, 50-60 families call looking for a safe, warm place to come inside. We can offer shelter to just two or three of these families. Heartbreakingly, most families that call will hear that they should try again tomorrow and spend another night outside in the cold.
Mary’s Place is addressing our crisis of family homelessness with a three-pronged approach that includes emergency family shelter, mobile outreach and support for unsheltered families living in cars and tents, and keeping families in their hard-won homes with rental assistance and stability supports. Together with our generous community, we provided shelter and services to 2,076 families and 3,923 children and helped 1,128 families find or keep permanent, stable housing last year.
Thank you for dreaming BIG with us about a future where all families have access to safety, stability, and housing to ensure that no child sleeps outside!
