Mission

Our mission is to provide food and emergency services to residents in our service area and to educate, empower and engage our community in solving issues of hunger and nutrition.

Description

We service low income households and individuals that reside in Black Diamond, Maple Valley, and the Tahoma School District. These families are often faced with hard decisions: do they pay their rent or purchase food? Do they pay their utility bills or purchase food? We take that tough question out of the equation and provide free food in a grocery style model, where families can pick up the foods that meet their needs. We have found that families with basic food needs are often experiencing other challenges as well and offer a suite of wrap around services to help households become stable and food secure, such as financial assistance for utility disconnects, eviction notices, and medication.
