Kitsap Humane Society

Founded in 1908, Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) is a nationally recognized model in animal welfare, as it works to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for thousands of animals every year. As a part of that effort, KHS provides a vital safety net for the community and life-changing solutions to people and pets in need. They do so by accepting, sheltering, and rehabilitating companion animals in need; providing humane rescue, protection, prevention, adoptions, and education services; implementing progressive lifesaving and life-affirming programs; and collaborating and partnering with supporters and other non-profits to build a stronger community. 

Thanks to supporters like you, in 2024 we found new homes for 4,138 pets in need, placed 1,070 in foster homes, and spayed and neutered 4,563. And with the recent opening of the Russ and Linda Young Veterinary Lifesaving Center, we've been able to expand our services, providing reduced-cost veterinary care for those who need it - and keeping families together. And our reach extends beyond Kitsap County. As the lone Washington State ambassador for Greater Good Charities, we've been able to distribute more than 116,000 pounds of pet food to families through charity partners across the state.
