Mission

Connect, Serve and Empower the Indian American community of Western Washington

Description

Indian American Community Services (IACS), formerly IAWW, continues to serve the Indian Americans of WA state through its community, seniors, crisis and youth leadership programs.  We assist by identifying and addressing basic, emergent and pressing needs such as isolation, mental health, legal aid, rental assistance and crisis support. This is achieved through a range of services including senior support, early childhood education, support for parents and caregivers, youth leadership / advocacy, small business assistance and vocational mentoring for women.

We have a thriving year round Youth Leadership Program for middle to high schoolers, that connects youth to community services and leadership trainings, culminating in a unique 4-day summer camp addressing anchored connections, leadership skills and cultural connectivity. IACS launched its Youth Mental Health First Aid workshop in March 2024 with a culturally nuanced lens with intent to provide our community youth with resources and tools to help create a supportive peer community.

Senior Services Program provides weekly services at various pop up community centers around the Eastside, with emphasis on cultural navigation, community resources, information and assistance.  Through intergenerational activities, doc talks, senior lunches and quarterly field trips, the program addresses isolation, wellness and offers a sense of community to the seniors.

Crisis Services Program provides essential support for clients by providing employment coaching, vocational training, housing and food assistance, therapeutic support groups, legal clinics, all within a secure and supportive environment for those seeking help.

The Small Business Team promotes and advocates for entrepreneurial assistance, start-up or running financial aid, digital literacy and housing advocacy for the under served BIPOC communities through annual collaborative events, recurring workshops, outreach tables, and campaigns.

IACS believes in providing community a safe and inclusive space without judgement, while striving to be the one-stop shop for everyone who seeks help, shelter and wellbeing. At IACS, we ensure that no one feels alone in their struggles.

Your contribution is a statement of solidarity, a beacon of hope, and a commitment to building a brighter future for all in our community. Whether it's $10 or $1000, every penny counts towards creating a more inclusive, supportive, and thriving community.
