Mission

HFLA serves as an important and substantial part of the Jewish community's safety-net. We provide interest-free, no-fee loans, and scholarships that protect individuals from experiencing unnecessary hardship, and we are a catalyst for families and individuals trying to open the door to post-secondary education.  

Description

HFLA's financial support can mean the difference between thriving or not. Our financial support of $6,000 can help a family regain safety and stability bringing new hope to their lives and a reconnection with the Jewish community. For higher education, HFLA's scholarship program provides up to $6,500. Our Student Access Fund (SAF) provides up to $7,500 in interest-free, no-fee loans for higher education. 

HFLA's financial assistance programs make higher education more accessible and cheaper for Jewish students in Washington. i.e., Federal student loan interest rates are ~5% - 7% + origination fees of 1.4%.

With your help, HFLA will raise $7,500 during GiveBIG!

All donations up to $7,500 will be matched dollars-for-dollar, generating $15,000 for student education programs in our local Jewish community.
