Mission

The Coupeville Arts Center dba the Pacific NorthWest Art School, is a 39-year-old not-for-profit visual arts education facility, dedicated to bringing exceptional visual arts education to our community and beyond, by bringing nationally and internationally known faculty to Whidbey Island to teach our students. We are dedicated to excellence in the mediums of painting, fiber arts, photography, and mixed media.   Additionally we offer many free and low barrier to entry for art classes at the school. Our community enjoys free art supplies, free kids arts classes, a free camera club, a free art book club, the use of a free art lending library and are treated to several free community presentations from our visiting faculty.

Description

We are a not-for-profit visual arts education facility on Whidbey Island offering 80+ workshops each year in the mediums of Fiber Art, Mixed Media, Painting, and Photography. Additionally, we offer scholarships and free lectures/presentations by our visiting faculty. We offer local, community-based programs and activities to nourish the artistic spirit in all of us.
